Country-level comparisons fail for a predictable reason: they compare different things. One source quotes a landed cost, another quotes a factory gate price; one measures export value, another measures volume. Every profile here states its data period and its basis so that the comparison is a comparison of the same thing.

How to read these pages

Most recent data available at the time of writing is used, and the period is stated on every page and every figure. Apparel trade data is revised regularly and cost data moves faster still. Always confirm a figure against the primary source cited at the foot of the page before committing to it.
