Pakistan textile and apparel exports, FY2025-26

What this dataset is

This dataset records Pakistan's textile and apparel export values for FY2025-26, broken down by HS chapter, by product segment and by principal destination. It reproduces figures published in the Pakistan Textile Council's Annual Export Performance Report, which is based on Pakistan Single Window and Pakistan Bureau of Statistics data. It contains 12 rows covering the sector aggregate, the four main segment groupings and the five largest destinations. It does not contain monthly data, unit volumes, prices, or information about individual companies.

Definitions

HS Chapter 61
Articles of apparel and clothing accessories, knitted or crocheted.
HS Chapter 62
Articles of apparel and clothing accessories, not knitted or crocheted.
HS Chapter 63
Other made-up textile articles; sets; worn clothing; rags. In this dataset it is used for home textiles and made-ups.
HS Chapters 50–60
Raw textile materials through to fabrics — fibre, yarn and cloth. Treated in this dataset as raw materials and intermediates.
Value-added
In this dataset, exports under HS Chapters 61–63. The term reflects the greater processing content of finished garments and made-ups relative to fibre and fabric, not a formal economic classification.
FY2025-26
The Pakistani fiscal year running from July 2025 to June 2026.

Methodology

Figures are transcribed from the Pakistan Textile Council's Annual Export Performance Report for FY2025-26, published 17 September 2026, which states that it is based primarily on Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data. No adjustment, smoothing, seasonal correction or rebasing has been applied. Percentage changes are reproduced exactly as published. Shares of total textile exports have been calculated on the published total of $18.0 billion, and the basis is stated in the variable definition so that the calculation can be reproduced and checked. Where the source does not provide a figure, the cell is absent rather than estimated. The sub-segment rows for home textiles, knitwear and non-knit apparel sum to $14.979 billion against a published value-added total of $14.98 billion; the difference is a rounding artefact in the source figures and has not been adjusted.

What this dataset contains

Twelve rows describing Pakistan’s textile and apparel export position in FY2025-26:

  • The sector aggregate — total textile and apparel exports, and the change on the previous year.
  • Two composition groupings — value-added (HS Chapters 61–63) and raw materials and intermediates (HS Chapters 50–60).
  • Three value-added sub-segments — home textiles and made-ups, knitwear, and non-knit apparel.
  • Five destination rows — the EU, the US, the UK, China and Bangladesh.

Contextual figures from the same source, included because they are material to interpreting the export data:

Total national exports$30.14bn, −5.9%FY2025-26

How to use it, and how not to

It is suitable for: establishing the scale and composition of Pakistan’s textile export position in FY2025-26; understanding the direction of shift between raw materials and value-added goods; identifying which destinations dominate.

It is not suitable for: forecasting; comparing Pakistan against other countries (the source covers Pakistan only); analysing individual companies; separating price movements from volume movements (no quantities are included); or monthly or seasonal analysis.

The most common error with a dataset like this is to treat the composition percentages as an economic finding. They are a description of what was exported in value terms. A rise in the value-added share could reflect more garment exports, higher garment prices, lower fibre prices, or currency movement — this dataset cannot distinguish between those, and no conclusion should be drawn that depends on the distinction.

Limitations

  • Single source. Every figure derives from one annual report. No independent verification against PSW or PBS primary data was performed.
  • Annual only. Monthly and quarterly variation is not captured. Monthly figures published by the State Bank of Pakistan may differ from, and are not directly comparable to, these annual totals.
  • Value, not volume. No quantities, weights or unit prices are included, so this dataset cannot be used to separate price effects from volume effects.
  • No company-level data. Every row is a sector aggregate. Nothing here describes any individual manufacturer, exporter or mill.
  • Rounding. Source figures are published to three decimal places in billions of dollars. Sub-totals do not sum exactly to published totals; discrepancies are in the order of $1 million and are not adjusted.
  • Coverage boundary. The 'value-added' definition used here follows the source report's use of HS Chapters 61–63. Other analyses may define value-added differently, and comparisons across sources should be checked for that difference.
